Suspect Arrested in Death of Eau Claire High Student

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police have arrested a 19-year-old old man in connection with a shooting that led to the death of an Eau Claire High School student.

Rayquawn Tyrese Walker was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with murder, three counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. 

According to police, Walker fired multiple shots at a car traveling on Farrow Road back on November 21. Cameron Scott, 17, was inside that car as a passenger.

The shots startled the driver, causing the person to lose control and run off the road. The collision killed Scott.

Three other males who were with Scott at the time of the collision are expected to recover from their injuries. 

CPD Investigators continue to work leads regarding the motive for the shooting.
