USC commit Dakereon Joyner, the Fort Dorchester quarterback who was a top target for Will Muschamp and the Gamecock coaches released a statement on Twitter saying he is still solid with his commitment to Carolina and will not be wavering, even in the wake of Kurt Roper's dismissal as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Roper had an in-home visit with Joyner last week, but early Wednesday morning, head coach Will Muschamp announced Roper was not going to be retained.

Joyner started his tweet with a headline that read "to clarify any rumors" and from there, wrote that he is solidly in the Gamecock camp in spite of the change on USC's staff.

Muschamp said in his statement he will not name a new quarterbacks coach and play caller until after the Outback Bowl on January 1. Joyner is expected to graduate this month so he can enroll at USC in January,

Meanwhile, while Joyner finishes up his high school demands, Muschamp will be using his vast list of contacts to zero in on potential coordinators, Regardless of who comes in, it should be considered the most important hire of the Muschamp era as he looks for someone who can provide a spark to the offense.
