(WLTX) - Yes, it's been four decades and ten films in the making. But all those sequels and remakes don't mean a thing anymore - because they've been officially retconned! We now have a "new Halloween 2."

And, since we're able to ignore all those bad movies, we can also see Michael as being more "human." If you recall, he didn't become another "Jason who could not be killed" until later. This means he's vulnerable...and Laurie's ready!

Apparently, that traumatic Halloween night had a long lasting effect on her. She's become a haggard recluse, with poor family relations. But staying a step ahead of a madman will take its toll.

As expected, the movie features a lot of what we anticipate from horror films (bloody violence, brief nudity, etc.). However, it must be noted that they never resort to excessive gore.

The Leemoji always appreciates restraint and loves that they got back to the basics. But he also gets frustrated when they don't bring anything new to the equation. In the end, he's just puzzled as to why they bothered.

They'll keep trying - but Halloween will never be as good as it was in 1978.
