An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a Sumter woman last week, according to a statement from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
No further details about the suspect or an arrest were immediately available, but the Sumter County Sheriff's Office and SLED will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. Wednesday to provide additional information.
The body of Suzette Ginther, 27, was found dead in a shallow grave in a wooded area of off Burnt Gin Road in Sumter County last week. The Sumter County Coroner's office says Ginther died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The Cherryvale woman was reported missing Thursday. But just hours after that report was filed, her body was found by a hunter in Manchester National Forest near Camp Burnt Gin.
The Sumter County Sheriff's office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.
