COLUMBIA, S.C. — A former South Carolina prosecutor jailed for wire fraud has launched a blog to document what he's calling his "redshirt year" in prison.
Dan Johnson, the former Columbia prosecutor, was sentenced last month to a year and a day in federal prison for his role in a scheme that stole about $44,000 in public money.
The term "redshirt year" is used in sports when a college athlete sits out for a season. It's unclear if Dan Johnson will be able to return to his field. He says the blog will chronicle his "mental, physical, and spiritual growth."
The blog has posts by-lined with his inmate number, 33778-171, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons inmate locator.
