Lexington, SC (WLTX) - A Columbia man is being accused of setting off an explosive at a local salon while stalking a woman.

Lexington Police have charged 43-year-old Robert Howard Adams Jr. with stalking and use of a destructive devices.

According to police, Adams began stalking a Lexington woman late last month. During that time, the victim had her cable television disabled and her vehicle tires flattened in separate incidents.

Police say on November 13, Adams detonated an M-80 firecracker on the front doors of the Cost Cutters salon where the victim worked. Officers say they found glass pieces from the door, duct tape, and the exterior packaging of the firecracker inside the store.

Officers say they were able to link him to the explosion and the other incidents. Police did not say if the victim knew him prior to the stalking.

Adams is currently being held on $55,000 bond.
