Greenville sheriff's deputies are in a standoff with a man armed with two samurai swords, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Ryan Flood.

Flood said deputies were driving down White Horse Road earlier Tuesday when they noticed a man wielding two Samurai swords.

Flood said the man took a "combat stance" when a deputy approached, backed into his house in the 3900 block of White Horse Road and refused to come out.

He said the Sheriff's Office has had dealings with the man in the past.

Deputies are now negotiating with the man to put his weapons down, Flood said shortly after 3 p.m.
