Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The workweek will start off wet. Rain will be heavy at times across the Midlands.
The weekend was mostly dry. High temperatures Sunday were in the lower to middle 70s Sunday.
Late Sunday afternoon light rain started to move into the area. Rain will continue to move into the area overnight. Showers will be widespread by early Monday morning.
Rain will be likely through a large part of the day Monday. The showers could be heavy at times. Forecast models are indicating parts of the area could receive 2-2.5 inches of rain through Tuesday, with isolated higher amounts.
There is some potential for flooding Monday, but the chance for severe weather is small. If there are any severe thunderstorms, the greatest risk will be damaging winds.
The showers will continue Monday night into Tuesday. The rain will gradually move out of the area late Tuesday evening.
High temperatures Monday will be in the middle to upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Tuesday high temperatures will be in the middle to upper 70s.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and dry with high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
