1 Killed in Orangeburg Hit and Run, Troopers Search for Driver

Troopers say instead of stopping, the driver of the vehicle just kept going.

Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - State troopers are looking for the person who they say hit and killed a person with a car, then left the scene of the accident.

The collision happened on Ellis Avenue near Redmon Street in Orangeburg around 1:40 a.m. on May 26.

According to troopers, the vehicle was traveling west on Ellis Avenue when it hit a person walking across the roadway. The driver didn't stop to check on the victim.

The vehicle, believed to be a 2008 to 2014 Dodge Challenger, was located in June, according to Trooper Judd Jones with S.C. Highway Patrol. However, troopers say they aer still working to identify the driver.
