Columbia, SC (WLTX) A car chase left multiple people hospitalized and one man charged, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Lt. Curtis Wilson said the chase began around 4 PM when a narcotics until observed a drug sale on Farrow road.

The K-9 unit was called and as the officers were going to search the vehicle, it speed away.

The chase headed to West Beltline Boulevard and Brookland where the fleeing driver swerved to miss a school bus and struck a car with a woman and her two children in oncoming traffic.

All were transported with non life threatening injuries according to the sheriff's department.

The driver, identified as Frank Hopkins, 30, was charged with possession, failure to stop for blue lights, habitual offender and driving under suspension.
