HOUSTON — A father has been charged with injury to a child after police said he accidentally shot his own son Saturday while taking apart his gun.
This happened outside a home in the 4500 block of Hershe Street, which is in Houston's Greater Fifth Ward area.

Houston police said Jesus A. Reynaga, 40, was attempting to take apart his gun in a reckless manner near where children were playing when he accidentally shot his son in the chest.
His son was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police did not give any updates on his current condition.
