Coroner identifies person killed in Lexington crash

Lexington Police Department is on the scene of a fatal accident in the 2600 block of Mineral Springs road. The road will be blocked for some time.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Lexington county coroner has identified the person killed in an accident on Mineral Springs road on August 31. 

According to Lexington Coroner Margaret Fisher, Wanda Williams Nichols, 64 of West Columbia was killed when the car she was driving collided with another vehicle on Mineral Springs road.   Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the other car was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington Police Department.
