The Richland County Sheriff's Department says it responded to a string of armed robberies throughout the County Monday night.

The first occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at a MoneyGram on Beltline Boulevard. Deputies say a suspect presented a handgun to the employee and them jumped over the counter to go through the chas drawer as another suspect entered with a drawn handgun. The two suspects made off with approximately $14,125 in cash in a backpack.

At 11:40 p.m., deputies say they then responded to another armed robbery at a Shell Gas Station on Clemson Road. Investigators say the suspect presented a handgun and instructed the employee to open the cash drawer. The suspect fled with approximately $160 and a pack of cigarettes, according to deputies.

Then, at around 1:42 a.m., deputies say they responded to an armed robbery at a B.P. Gas Station in the 8400 block of Two Notch of Road. In that case, deputies say two suspected wearing black hooded jackets fled with an unknown amount of money in a backpack.

No word on if deputies think the cases may be related.
