EdVenture was decked in red, white and blue this Fourth of July.
The museum hosted a Military Appreciation day on Tuesday to honor those who served in the armed forces. Free admission was offered to all military members and dependents.
Karen Coltrane, president and CEO of EdVenture, was very excited about the event. “We are a community that truly appreciates our military service members and their families.” Coltrane says. “We are also excited to honor them with a free family experience at the museum on the fourth of July.”
Kids also had the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities and classes. These activities included paper airplane building, flight simulators, and creating their version of the Statue of Liberty. The kids also learned about the science of fireworks.
Matt Wicker, who is the museum experience coordinator, says that he really enjoys spending time with families during the holiday. “Well it’s just great to come together.” Wicker says. “Seeing families as well as help support their interaction together as they are celebrating our nation and the freedoms that we have.”
The museum traditionally holds Military Appreciation day on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
