Irmo, SC (WLTX) -- No students were hurt when a school bus caught fire Wednesday morning outside Dutch Fork Elementary School.

Two fire departments were called to a school bus fire Wednesday morning. According to officials, the driver smelled smoke while pulling onto the property, and quickly got all of the kids off the vehicle.

Irmo Fire Marshall Jeff Allen says both Irmo Fire and Columbia Fire responded to the scene at the school, which is located on Broad River Road. " No students were on board at the time, but the bus is probably a total loss," Allen said. "The building did not catch on fire."

What started the fire had not been determined. Traffic was extremely congested in the Broad River Road area.
