Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A fire caused damaged to a business in Columbia's Congaree Vista Monday night.

The business where the fire happened, is a linen company called Alsco Incorporated.

The cause of fire is still unclear, but Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says it started in a stack of rugs.

Luckily, the shop closes at 5:00 o'clock, so no one was there at the time of the fire.

There was heavy smoke throughout the building, according to the fire department. Shortly before 8 p.m., officials indicated the fire was under control and crews were checking for hot spots. At this time, firefighters say there are no reported injuries.

One lane of traffic is currently closed in the 400 block of Huger Street, northbound.

The structure damage is estimated to be as much as $100,000.

Alsco says production employees are on a 3 hour delay. All production employees should contact their manager before reporting to work.
