Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- It’s been one year since “The Thousand Year Flood” and Governor Haley says there’s still work to be done to recover from the disaster.

In an interview with News19’s J.R. Berry, Haley said South Carolina’s infrastructure, already damaged from two winter storms, took a huge hit from the October flood.

The Governor also talks about what went through her mind when she woke up that Sunday morning to see nearly two feet of rain on the ground.

Haley says while the flood waters destroyed homes, businesses and roads, it didn’t destroy the spirit of South Carolinians who worked together to get through the tough days and weeks that followed.
