Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A freeze warning is in effect for parts of the Midlands Monday morning.

Winds will diminish and the clouds will move out Sunday night and Monday morning.

A freeze warning is in effect for Fairfield, Newberry and Saluda counties Monday morning. Scattered frost is also possible in parts of the Midlands.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing are likely. These conditions may kill crops or other sensitive vegetation.

A warming trend will begin Monday afternoon and will continue for the remainder of the workweek. There will be a slow increase in the moisture through the week.

Dry weather is expected for Halloween to the delight of trick-o-treaters. It may be a little cool in some areas after sunset.

Temperatures by the end of the workweek may return to the upper 70s and lower 80s.
