Thursday night’s shooting deaths on Parklane Road in Columbia remain a mystery.
Sydni McMillan Collins, 46, and her husband Aaron "AC" Collins, 40, were shot and killed along Parklane Road, near the Claudia Drive intersection on Thursday night.
The Richland County Corner says they both died of gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Those at nearby businesses say they saw the scene before emergency crews showed up.
"I called 911, JD looked up at me and said Cal she's dead and sure enough, she was dead,” says one man who came from the My Place Bar right next to the shooting.
Traice Brown, who is friends with the couple and took photos of them and their motorcycles, says he was shocked to hear the news of their deaths.
"I saw a live report that a crew was filming here and when you see stuff like that, you don't expect them to be someone you know,” says Brown.
Beth Eskridge says she's known Sydni since elementary school.
"She's always been one of those bright lights that her smile truly lit up the room,” she says.
Known for their love of bikes, Brown says they will truly be missed in the motorcycle community.
“You can’t really say anything bad about them, because that’s not who they were and not the people I knew,” says Brown.
"This is not something that ever should've happened,” says Eskridge. “It shouldn't happen to anyone, but it shouldn't have happened to them."
The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating the shooting deaths.
