A house fire in northeast Richland County has left two residents without a home, according the Columbia Fire Department.

The Columbia Fire Department (CFD) reported crews were battling a house fire on Westridge Road in northeast Richland County around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters reported the scene was under control around 6:05 p.m..

The home is a complete loss and two resident have been displaced, according to CFD. No injuries were reported.

CFD says a preliminary investigation indicates the fire may have been caused by by 'improper discarding of smoking materials.'
