An inmate at Lee Correctional Institution has killed another inmate, state prisons officials say.
According to a tweet by the South Carolina Department of Corrections, they are investigating the death . At this time, officials are only saying the death resulted from an altercation at the facility.
The inmate has been identified as Robert Odell Brown, 33.
Lee Correctional is a level 3 facility, the highest level of security, meaning it houses some of the most violent offenders in the South Carolina prisons system. It's located in Bishopville, SC.
Most recently, an inmate was killed there following a fight in November of last year.
