"It Isn't An Age Limit To These Things", 8th Grader Takes Part in Walkout

Middle school students also took part in Wednesday's National School Walkout.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Students stood in solidarity on Wednesday, honoring the lives lost exactly one month ago in Parkland, Florida.

Across the country, high school students walked out of their classroom for 17 minutes to honor the 17 killed. Fourteen students and three teachers were killed on Valentine's Day.

Students at Hand Middle School took part in the walkout, placing photos of the victims on trees in the courtyard, with facts about each person.

Inside the auditorium, there were news reports playing on a monitor, talking about the victims and survivors of the school shootings.

Ella Reidman, an 8th grader at Hand Middle School, along with her mother, Heidi, spoke to News 19 on Wednesday.
