(WLTX) -- Deputies from the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office are searching for a man they say went missing Friday, October 21.

Deputies say 47-year-old Barry Stanley walked away from the doctor's office when his mother went to a convenience store. Later, Stanley's mother was notified that he had checked into the Travel Inn hotel in Lugoff. She later found out that he had checked out of the hotel Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

Deputies say Stanley has some medical issues and it is not known if he is currently carrying his medication.

Family members told deputies that he has walked off before and returned several days later after walking to the downtown Columbia area.

He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about his location should contact the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office at 803-425-1512.
