Lake Murray, SC (WLTX) – No husbands and no boyfriends are the requirements for Ladies Day on the Lake.
It's an annual event where women sharpen their boating skills.
The Lake Murray Association started the event years ago, after a woman did not know how to operate a boat when her husband had a heart attack.
Department of Natural Resources officers teach the women safety skills, rules and regulations, docking, navigating and trailering.
“My favorite thing about the whole thing is how enjoyable it is for the ladies and how much they appreciate it and how they can ask questions that they wouldn't maybe ask their husbands or boyfriends,” Joy Downs with the Lake Murray Association explained.
The class is only held once a year and it's all for just $35.
