Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Less humidity and slightly cooler air will filter into the Midlands overnight.
A cold front moved through the Midlands Sunday. It was hot and humid during the afternoon. A few areas in the southern and eastern Midlands received some rain. Most of us were rain-free during the second half of the weekend.
High temperatures were in the upper 80s to near 90° Sunday afternoon.
Cooler, dryer air will be moving into the area overnight. High pressure will build in and take control of our weather for several days.
Mostly sunny skies are expected starting Monday. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 80s through Wednesday. Low temperatures will be in the lower to middle 60s. Some areas Wednesday morning could drop into the upper 50s.
The dew point temperatures will be lower too. The lower humidity levels will make it much more comfortable to be outdoors. It will be a nice treat for the last few days of June.
The heat and humidity will return gradually. Thursday through Sunday high temperatures will be in the lower 90s. There will be a chance of thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.
