Saquiriauki S. "Serio" Mister, 22, is charged with ill-treatment of an animal, a felony offense.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A social media post showing a dog being abused back in 2016 resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old man.

Saquiriauki S. “Serio” Mister, of Mississippi, is charged with ill-treatment of an animal, a felony offense.

On October 16, 2016, photographs and a video showing a man kicking a small white dog several times, then throwing it down the stairs of the Cedarcrest Village Apartments were shared with the Lexington Police Department.

CAUTION: Video may be disturbing to some viewers.

Mister fled to Mississippi, where he remained until his arrest a few weeks ago. He was extradited back to South Carolina, and is awaiting a bond hearing at Lexington County Detention Center.

The Lexington County Animal Services cared for the dog a white female Maltese until she was placed into a foster home, where she will receive long-term care pending the case's outcome.
