Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police are looking for a man who they say threatened the life of a Walmart employee's child, all so he could get thousands of dollars in gift cards.

Officers say 20-year-old Ashad Brooks made the threat last month in order to get Visa gift cards. Those gift cards were worth about $18,000 total.

Brooks was able to get the cards without paying for them.

Police say other charges could be filed in this case.
