Men Wanted on Over 35 Car Break-Ins Arrested in Cars They Allegedly Stole

Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Three men wanted in connection to dozens of cars thefts and break-ins are in custody.

Deputies initially responded to 35 car break-ins and two car thefts in Kershaw County on August 7 and 9. The department then learned several other areas in the Midlands, including Rock Hill, Lexington County, Columbia and Sumter, experienced similar car crimes.

Forensic evidence from the scenes aided investigators in identifying the suspects, who were all found in cars deputies say were stolen during these incidents.

Sir Joe La’Taludean Elijha Walker, 18, was taken into custody by Columbia police after he was found sitting in a car stolen from Richland County. Walker has a criminal history, which includes grand larceny, second-degree and third-degree burglary, breaking into a motor vehicle and damaging or tampering with a motor vehicle.

A juvenile male, who was not publicly identified because he's under the age of 17, was apprehended in Rock Hill on August 11 after he fled on foot from a car stolen out of Kershaw County.

Lexington County deputies arrested 17-year-old William Cornelius Moore-Holley, who was driving a car stolen from York County, on August 13.

All three suspects are charged with 33 car break-ins and 2 car thefts in Kershaw County.
