Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The chance for showers and storms will continue for the start of the new workweek.
Sunday was hot and humid. High temperatures climbed into the lower 90s before the rain moved into the area. Columbia hit a high temperature of 92° Sunday afternoon.
The shower and storm chances will continue Monday afternoon after early morning fog dissipates as a stationary front remains draped across the area. Scattered showers and storms are possible. High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s.
The chance for rain will be slightly lower Tuesday and Wednesday. It will still be hot and humid. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s, heat index values may climb into the lower 100° range.
Weak high pressure may build in towards the end of the workweek. Hot and humid conditions will continue. High temperatures will be in the middle 90s. There will only be a slight chance for showers and storms.
The chance for rain will increase over the weekend. High temperatures will be a little above normal for Saturday and Sunday.
