Columbia, SC (WLTX) - High pressure will dominate the weather over the Southeast this weekend. There will be abundant sunshine with mild daytime temperatures and chilly nights.

Saturday temperatures fell into the lower 40s and warmed into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. The Columbia airport hit 70° Saturday.

Sunday morning will be cold, some areas may see some frost. Most of the area will see lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s, but a few areas will be colder.

The dry weather will continue into next week. It will be chiller at the beginning of the week with a warming trend throughout the week. Skies may become partly cloudy on Wednesday and Friday, but no rain is expected during the workweek.

The weather for election day will be ideal. It will be dry with pleasant temperatures.
