Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Another hot and humid day is expected across the Midlands with thunderstorms later in the day. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s with heat indices above 100° across much of the Midlands. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon with more thunderstorms this evening.

A cold front will be entering the Upstate and slowly moving southeast. The front is expected to push into the Columbia area Sunday morning and become stationary. Thunderstorms will build in advance of the front and will move into the Midlands this evening. Locally heavy rains, high winds, and large hail may accompany some of the storms. Therefore there will be a chance for severe weather this evening.

More thunderstorms are expected on Sunday with the front stationary in the area. However, the storms will begin to build earlier in the afternoon helping to keep temperatures in the low 90s for highs.
