Columbia, SC (WLTX)- The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for 9 of the 11 Midlands counties. This includes Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Orangeburg, Richland and Sumter.
In many counties, visibility is at or less than a quarter of a mile. With very warm, very muggy conditions, and light winds, the fog may not dissipate until after 10 am Friday.
Widespread dense fog will be very likely in low-lying areas and locations near bodies of water, such as lakes, creeks and rivers.
