Columbia, SC (WLTX)-- Christyann English says there's no doubt in her mind, she was born to be an educator.

For more than 30 years, she's been an elementary school teacher primarily teaching fourth and fifth grade students.

For the last 13 years, she's been at Batesburg Leesville Elementary School, prior to that she was at H.B. Rhame Elementary in Richland District 1.

English's fifth grade students say she's strict but they know that she cares for them and wants to see them succeed.

In addition to her work in the classroom, English is also the girls tennis coach for Batesburg Leesville High School.
