The scene of an apartment fire in Southeast Columbia Thursday morning has been turned over to the Fire Marshal's office, according to the Columbia Fire Department (CFD).

All hands responded to an apartment fire around 5 a.m. on Patricia Drive, CFD says. Around 5:30 a.m., CFD reported crews had made progress on knocking down.

CFD says one person was rescued and transported to a local hospital for care.

Around 6:30 a.m. CFD reported the fire, which was limited to one apartment, was extinguished. However, some roads around Patricia Drive remained closed due to continued clean up operations.

CFD says all four apartments in the quadplex have been cleared and 5 people have been displaced, including the victims transported for medical assistance.
