Preparations Underway for March for Our Lives

"I'm expecting at least over two thousand people tomorrow"

Columbia, SC - (WLTX) "I'm expecting at least over two thousand people tomorrow" says Bradley

From all over South Carolina people will be gathering at the state house to standup against gun violence.

Bradley says,"We have kids from USC, students from different HS across the midlands and were just planing a great rally and march here at the state house."

Perry Bradley, Executive Director of Building Better Communities, gives us a walk through of where everything will be set up.

"So we're on the Sumter Street side will have Porter Johns over here. Now right over here is our staging area. The speeches will be over here, the performances and everything will be taking place at this spot"

Melvin Whittenburg, an advisory board member to Building Better Communities, says he's helping by being a supportive parent.

"The kids are hoping that their voice will be heard and as parents we're there supporting them logistically but it's their show and we're just there for support" says Whittenburg

But this all derives from students like USC freshman, Ian Bain saying enough is enough.

Bain says, "I was inspired by the students of Parkland. They've just been doing so much for what they believe in and it really hit home. People think they maybe to young to make a difference but thta's not true anyone ca malke a difference they just need their voice to be heard."

Thousands of people are expected to attend tomorrow"s event and so what does that mean for safety?Captain Kelly Hughes of the Highway Patrol sent out this statement saying, "We don't discuss specifics concerning our security measures; however, we will have appropriate security measures in place for the safety of the participants, as well as those who may be visiting the Statehouse grounds. We will continue to coordinate with state and local law enforcement as we have for past events of this nature."
