Gunfire exchanged between two vehicles outside a Columbia nightclub early Sunday morning left three men injured and deputies searching for answers.
Richland County deputies say they responded to a shorts fired call outside Vault nightclub, located at 3106 Broad River Road, just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Shortly thereafter, deputies say they also responded to Lexington Medical Center where three men arrived with gunshot wounds.
Investigators say two cars leaving Vault exchanged gunfire. Three men inside one of the vehicles were injured and went to Lexington Medical Center for treatment, officials say. None of those injuries were life-threatening, according to authorities.
Investigators say they do know how many people were in the other vehicle or if any of them were injured.
It's not the first time gunfire has erupted at the club. In July of 2017, someone sitting in a car outside the club was shot by someone sitting in another car, according to deputies.
Later that month, deputies said shots were fired after a fight had erupted outside.
Then, in September, deputies linked a shooting in the Vista to one at Vault a few hours later. In that case, Richland County sheriff Leon Lott said, "one of the shooters from the Vista, after the shooting, that was after 2 a.m., went to the Vault Club in the Broad River Road area, and an individual came over around 5 a.m. and shot at him."
