Thanks To Daughter, Dad Meets Tiger Woods

Shane Caldwell is battling stage IV lung cancer. For the last week his stepdaughter, Jordan Miller, was tirelessly tweeting and posting to Facebook, on a mission to get the attention of Tiger Woods and it worked.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Shane Caldwell is a fighter. Over the last fifteen years he beat colon cancer and continues his battle against lung cancer.

"I had a small spot, say this big, so we found this and we started on the journey," Caldwell said.

The journey took him to Scotland to play at St. Andrews and Prestwick Golf Club. And this past week it took Shane and his wife Renay to Augusta.

"And I stopped and I got out, stood out and I just said, 'We made it'," he said.

"Anything that makes him happy, makes me happy,” said Renay.

They were at the Masters and talked with some of the greatest golfers to ever play the game. They also saw Ian Baker-Finch, Gary Player and even Jack Nicklaus, but there was one more golfer Shane was going to meet.

"So we decided not to tell him because we wanted him to sleep that night," Jordan Miller said.

For days Shane's stepdaughter Jordan was tirelessly tweeting and posting to Facebook, on a mission to get the attention of Tiger Woods and it worked.

"He came over and I shook his hand and I probably said something kind of funny. I said, 'Go out there and knock them dead.' And he said, 'I will'," Shane said. "She didn't do it for recognition. She didn't do it for any other thing. She just wanted me to have it. She wanted me to meet Tiger Woods."

"He deserves it. He deserves to meet a hero of his. He's a hero of mine, so he's our superhero. He deserves that moment," Miller said.
