Third AC Flora Student Arrested for Having Gun on School Grounds

The latest arrest was made Thursday. It's in connection to an incident that happened Tuesday.

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies say another student at AC Flora High School has been charged with having a firearm on school grounds.

The latest arrest was made Thursday. It's in connection to an incident that happened on Tuesday.

According to deputies, this all started Tuesday when a school resource officer discovered that a student had a loaded gun magazine in his book bag.

Other students told the officer that they'd also seen someone throw something in the bushes. The officer was able to locate an unloaded Smith and Wesson .380 handgun.

Officers were then able to quickly take two 16-year-olds into custody Tuesday afternoon. Further investigation led officers to make the charge and arrest announced Thursday. Officers believe the most recently arrested student is the one who tossed the gun.

The student has now been taken to jail.

That also makes the fourth AC Flora student arrested week. On Wednesday, officers arrested Morgan Roof, 18, charging her with simple possession of marijuana and two counts of carrying weapons on school grounds.
