Columbia, SC (WLTX) — Traffic was backed up for miles on I-26 East Thursday morning as crews cleaned up after a vehicle fire overnight.
According to Trooper David Jones with S.C. Highway Patrol, one lane was closed near Broad River Road as crews worked to clean debris from a vehicle fire overnight.
There was also an accident near Exit 97 (Ballentine, White Rock, Peak), which added to the congestion.
One caller to News 19 said she sat in traffic for more than 40 minutes Thursday morning.
