(WLTX) -- One person was fatally hit be multiple vehicles after surviving a car crash on Interstate 26 Friday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identifies the victim as 26-year-old Lauren Lew of Irmo. An autopsy indicates that she died from multiple body trauma.

Troopers say the woman was walking east on I-26 and near mile marker 91 after being involved in a previous collision on the westbound side. The victim was struck by an SUV and another unknown vehicle. The incident happened just after 8:00 p.m.

This collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
