Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at a Columbia apartment complex early Monday morning, according to the Columbia Fire Department (CFD).
Crews responded to the fire at Charbonneau Apartment at 167 Stoneridge Drive around 2:30 a.m., according to CFD, who says all hands were on deck to knock down the fire in Building 13. By 5:30 a.m., CFD reported the fire was under control.
11 out of the 12 apartments were occupied and Red Cross is on the scene assisting displaced residents, according to CFD spokesman Brick Lewis. The actual number of displaced residents is not known at this time. Officials say no injuries were reported.
Firefighters continue to work some hot spots and will continue working at the scene until a cause can be determined, according to Brick Lewis with CFD.
