Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A vigil was held at the South Carolina State House Saturday night for those injured and killed in Charlottesville, Virginia following a white nationalist event.

Dozens of people attended the event to their solidarity to those in Virginia, singing songs such as "This Land is Your Land."

Organizers say they hope the world can come together to heal.

"I think the overall message is that we're better together and that love is always gonna win over hate regardless of your race, creed, religion, sexual preference...whatever," said Sarah Keeling, one of those who went to the event. " That we're better together and we need more love."

There is no word yet from the organizers if there will be any other rallies at the State House.
