(WLTX) - We now have final results for the elections held across the Midlands Tuesday.
Those numbers can be found here: http://www.wltx.com/elections
There were no statewide races on the ballot; instead, voters chose for candidates running for municipal elections, meaning mayors and town council members.
In Columbia, incumbents Tameika Isaac Devine and Sam Davis easily won re-election to their seats. Current Mayor Steve Benjamin was up for re-election this year, but no one filed to oppose him.
Over in Lexington County, Chapin will have a new mayor, after David Knight defeated incumbent Skip Wilson. In the one voter question on the ballot, Irmo voters rejected a change to a city ordinance that would have allowed people to raise and keep chickens at their home.
There was one particularly unusual result from the night: a write-in candidate won. That was over in the Lexington County town of Pine Ridge, where Robert Wells defeated David Busby 80-70, even though he wasn't on the ballot.
