(WKYC) - Less than half of all Americans feel they are receiving a fair wage, according to a new poll conducted by the University of Phoenix and Harris.
The found found that only 46 percent of working adults felt they were being fairly compensated, while 12 percent said they were very under-compensated. Among the age groups asked, adults who are 55 and over were the least likely to say they were fairly compensated, with just 26 percent believing so.
There was another interesting development on the other end of the spectrum: 31 percent of millennials surveyed believed they were over-compensated, which was nearly twice the national average of 16 percent.
Median household income in the United States was over $59,000 in 2016, the highest number ever even when adjusted for inflation.
