Bryce Thompson's 10-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted Ben Lippen to a 27-21 overtime win over Porter Gaud in the SCISA AAA state championship Saturday at Benedict's Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

Thompson's run on the Falcons' first play from overtime came after the Falcon defense stopped Porter Gaud on 4th down from the two-yard line.

Thompson, the Virginia Tech commit who transferred from Dutch Fork, was held in check in the first half, The only scoring for Ben LIppen was a Ryan Fleming 52-yard touchdown run.

Oliver Michaud had five-yard TD run for the Cyclones as the teams went in the lockerroom tied at seven.

In the second half, Thompson scored on a 59-yard run which put the Falcons up 21-14 after a two-point conversion.

Michaud scored his second touchdown of the game, tying the contest at 21 and setting the stage for the overtime finish.

Thompson finished with 171 yards rushing as Ben Lippen avenged a regular season loss to the Cyclones
