Dutch Fork senior Bryce Thompson will return to Williams-Brice Stadium where his last game for Dutch Fork was quite the spectacle as he scored two second-half touchdowns to help Dutch Fork win the Class 5A state championship.

Thompson announced on Twitter Wednesday he will play for Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks.

"It's the coaching staff," Thompson told Chris Clark and Wes Mitchell from GamecockCentral.com.

"I feel like they have one of the best coaching staffs in the country. When it comes to T-Rob (USC defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson), his resume says it all. I want to go to the league and I think that's going to be the best route for me."

According to GamecockCentral.com. Thompson is on track to get his academic requirements together and as a result, he will wait until February to sign his letter of intent with USC.

Thompson is in Spartanburg this week where he will suit up in Saturday's Shrine Bowl. As was the case at Dutch Fork, Thompson has been working at receiver, running back and defensive back.
