Five or 10 years ago, Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney would have melted the microphones with his response to a rival coach suggesting Memorial Stadium was not the real Death Valley.
But one national championship and a four-game winning streak against USC later and Swinney's response to a recent Muschamp dig was, well, as tame as the dig itself, which appeared to have no vitriol to it, just Muschamp trying to entertain the audience but without getting too personal.
Speaking at an event in North Carolina for the Gaston County Hall of Fame, USC's head football coach talked of his time as an assistant at LSU.
“We were at the real Death Valley, not the one somewhere else,.” Muschamp was quoted as saying.
Thursday night at the Charleston Prowl & Growl event, Swinney was asked about the comments and he clearly laughed it off when asked if it bothered him.
"We'll keep working on it," Swinney said tongue-in-cheek of his program's record at home.
"We've lost maybe two games in the last five years. We'll pick it up, keep working hard, see if we can get a little better," he added with a touch of sarcasm.
"I like the Death Valley that I'm at. I love right where I am. I think it's a great place, unbelievable environment and thankful that I get a chance to go work there every day."
