The Darlington Raceway was busy Tuesday with four drivers taking part in a Goodyear tire test.
Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski, Erik Jones and Ryan Newman took their turns around the track in a session that started around 11 a.m. and lasted until after 6;30 p.m.
The session was scheduled to begin around 9:00 a.m. but heavy rains in the Pee Dee forced the test to be moved back a couple of hours.
While those drivers were busy gathering data for Goodyear, Dale Earnhardt, Junior was at the NASCAR Hall of Fame where he unveiled his throwback paint scheme for the upcoming Bojangles Southern 500.
Earnhardt will sport a paint scheme that he ran in 1998 and 1999 when he won back to back titles in what is now the Xfinity series. The scheme pays homage to the colors he ran with A.C. Delco on board as the primary sponsor. Nationwide will be his primary sponsor in his last appearance as a driver at the Darlington Raceway. Earnhardt announced earlier this year he will be retiring at season's end so this year's Bojangles Southern 500 will be his last. So those colors that he used in the late 90's will be making a return to the Pee Dee as Junior closes out this chapter.
