Sammy Esposito has a new job. The former USC assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator has joined the staff at Wichita State. The Shockers are led by fifth-year head coach Todd Butler.
Esposito started his tenure USC as a volunteer assistant in 2007 under Ray Tanner. When Chad Holbrook was promoted to head coach after the 2012 season, Esposito was promoted to full-time status.
With this announcement, all of the USC assistants under Chad Holbrook have jobs with pitching coach Jerry Myers and volunteer assistant Stuart Lake staying on the new staff under new head coach Mark Kingston.
Holbrook's future should be decided soon as it has been reported he is the top candidate for the vacancy at the College of Charleston.
