Gamecock Legend Is Also An Accomplished Author

One of the greatest players in the history of USC basketball, Skip Harlick has written a book containing advice for the younger generation.

He was a member of Frank McGuire's first recruiting class at USC and in 1968, he was a first round draft pick by the Atlanta Hawks who chose him with the 13th overall selection.

Along the way, he was inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame and the State of South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.

Now, Skip Harlicka can add author to his resume.

Harlicka has written a book entitled "A Lifetime Journey - Find Your Self, Find Your Fit". The New Jersey native who now calls Raleigh home says the book was geared towards up and coming athletes and their parents.

"How to teach kids to think and I thought it would be very, very valuable to parents," Harlicka said.

"While I tell stories about sports, I talk about Frank McGuire. I talk about Bobby Cremins. I talk about Skip Kickey. The main thing is to help young people as they are coming along at their pace to become the best they can be."
